Civil Technology Program


The Civil Technology program offered at the Uintah Basin Applied Technology College gives the student hands-on experience in the software used in a civil engineer or land surveyor office. The program provides practical training in the AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microsoft Excel, and how these software packages are used in civil design, surveying, road design, sewer and waste water design, and hydrology. Students will become proficient in creating the drawings required for contractors to build these types of projects. They will also gain an understanding of civil design principals and how data is collected by land surveyors and converted to workable drawings.

Excel for Civil Technicians
Applied Technical Math
AutoCAD Basics
Civil Technology I
AutoCAD Civil 3D Drafting I

  • Students are allowed to try testing out of any class or classes in the program without paying for the class. See Instructors for more details

  • Math 8.0 Grade Level
  • Reading 8.0 Grade Level
  • Keyboarding 30 WPM

Tuition and fees are based on program completion in the hours specified for the program length. *Tuition and Books are subject to change.

There are scholarship opportunities available for Civil Technology.

Program completers will be prepared to seek employment as civil technicians, civil drafters, or any entry level drafting position using AutoCAD. And with some experience they will be qualified for positions as civil designers, road designers, oil field well site designers.
